She was raised in an elite Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan by a Catholic family. The parents of her were enrolled at the Convent of the Sacred Heart an institution of the religious elite. Since she was young, she has been an avid music fan. She learned how to play piano from a young age and wrote her first song of original composition when she was thirteen. She performed at open mics. The singers she admired included queens Michael Jackson Madonna and David Bowie. After graduating from high school she was accepted into the Tisch School of Art of New York University where she was a music student. The student did not finish her education, but she did leave the school to start her musical career.
